Connectivity issues

Hello

I recently got my smartpi 2.0 and have some issues trying to set it up:

First, I cannot make a stable connection with the smartpi, it just randomly allowed me to be connected (through ethernet connection).
Another problem I have is that the AC fuse is blowing. I noticed that it's a 125mA fuse and I changed it, but keep blowing.
Do you have any idea what is wrong?
I made connections for single Phase: one ct and the voltage direct connection.

Hello,

you have 110V mains, right?
I'm sorry, but then at least a 250mA fuse has to be connected, because the power supply will pull 250mA. At 230V it is 125mA.
The mistake is ours, we didn't think of it. I am very sorry. Do you have a 250mA fuse? Or else we'll send one.

I suspect that this problem is also responsible for the bad network connection.

Hello Jens, I have read de datasheet of the IRM-10-5 and I noticed that.
The main supply voltage is 238V @50Hz.
I didn't have any 125mA fuse, so I tried first with 100mA (and of course it blows) and then tried with a 200mA fuse and it works fine, until I remove the voltage input and then connected again. Now the fuses keep blowing.
I can power-on the smartpi via usb, but still have the problems when I try to connect with the raspberry.
So I'm not sure if the IRM-10-5 is working properly.

I am a little surprised, because your SmartPi was tested and worked by me.
The connection cable between RaspberryPi and SmartPi may have a short circuit.
Please disconnect the connection cable at the Raspberry Pi (the 40-pin plug) and remove all test leads (current and voltage) from the SmartPi. Now use the Raspberry Pi with an external power supply. Is it running? Then reconnect the Raspbery Pi to the SmartPi and run it from the external power supply. Is it running? If not, the connection cable is probably defective.
Otherwise, it's probably the power supply. Then it worked for me during the test.

You can also simply send it back. We'll send out a new one tomorrow.

Hello Jens,

I'm afraid it should be the power supply.
I've made the tests, but still not working.
The raspberry Pi is working fine with an external power supply, so no problems with that.
The connection cable (40-pin plug) its fine as well. I tested it with a multimeter and there is no short circuit or broken wires.
At the end, I just disconnected everything from the smartpi board (even the connection cable), but the fuses keep blowing.

I'm waiting for another samartpi (it was me asking by email today), so I will replicate the conditions for the new board once I have it to see what happen.
